The partners from FoodDataQuest involved in the use case ‘Food Sustainability insights for a healthy and climate neutral food chain’ gathered for a kick-off workshop in Brussels on 8th of July.
The aim of this workshop was to pin down this use case within the predefined framework of the project and set up a concrete plan and next steps for the development of the use case.
This use case focuses on animal production value chain, aiming to bolster the resilience and sustainability of the food supply chain, while also fostering the transition to healthier, sustainable eating habits. This will be achieved by aggregating and analyzing accurate, primary agricultural data and incorporating diverse, unconventional data types.
The goal is to highlight the benefits of utilizing primary farm and input supplier data to support sustainability scoring, accelerate the shift towards sustainable healthy diets by using digital tools, enhance frameworks for a data-driven Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodology in food businesses, and empower consumers to make well-informed food choices.
The partners involved in this use case are ILVO, GS1, Colruyt Group, PALAU, and Nijsen Company. Together, they are working towards Farm to Fork Food Sustainability insights for a healthy and climate-neutral food chain.
