FoodDataQuest was recently presented at the GS1 Belgilux Forum 2026, an annual event that brings together more than 400 professionals from across sectors, including a strong representation from the agri-food value chain. The forum serves as a platform for information exchange and networking among supply chain actors.
As part of the programme, Esther Van Parys (ILVO) and Tom Quets (GS1) delivered a plenary presentation focusing on data spaces, including the Common European Agricultural Data Space (CEADS) and the FoodDataQuest project.
The invitation to present at the forum provided an opportunity to raise awareness about the future of data sharing among a broad audience of professionals, many of whom are actively involved in the agri-food sector. The presentation introduced the main concepts behind FoodDataQuest, explaining the “why, how, and what” of the project, and highlighting its role in supporting more transparent, efficient, and sustainable data use across food systems.
Use Case 3 was presented, offering concrete insights into how data-driven approaches can support traceability and sustainability in practice. The session reached a wide audience through its plenary format, contributing to increased visibility of both FoodDataQuest and CEADS among important stakeholders in the supply chain.
Participation in the forum highlights the importance of engaging with industry and supply chain actors to promote data sharing approaches and to support the transition towards more connected and data-driven food systems.
